Golf Courses in the Isle of Man
With an incredible setting in the middle of the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man is an outstanding location for a golf break – with a big choice of links and parkland courses to choose from you are guaranteed some great golf and memories to match.
The Island measures just 35 miles long and 11 across however there is still room for a total of nine courses. Eight of these are full 18-hole courses, right up to top championship level, with one nine delightful nine-hole alternative for those who may like a shorter option.
Castletown Golf Links
Golf has been played at Castletown since 1892 when Old Tom Morris designed the course. The course in its present form was laid out by golfing legend Mackenzie Ross in the late 20s and early 30s and provides some of the purest links golf anywhere in the British Isles.
Douglas Golf Course
Douglas Golf Course is one of only a select number of golf courses in the world designed by Dr Alexander (Alister) MacKenzie, architect of some of the world’s most challenging courses, among which are the Augusta National in Atlanta, Georgia and Australia’s Royal Melbourne.
King Edward Bay Golf Course
A round of golf at King Edward Bay is bound to be memorable. The course is superbly maintained and affords some of the best views on the Isle of Man due to its elevated position above Onchan, on the outskirts of the Island’s capital, Douglas.

Situated with a fine 4* hotel, this course has a fleet of 32 buggies to hire! The Comis Hotel and Golf Resort at Mount Murray presents golfers with an opportunity to play on a superb 18-hole championship course set in magnificent Isle of Man scenery.
Peel Golf Course
Laid out on heathland the Peel golf course lies just to the east of Peel. The course is extremely varied, with many holes having been cut through pine tree plantations. It offers a complete range of natural hazards from streams, turf banks and gorse.
Port St Mary Golf Course
It is the only nine-hole course on the Island, but whatever your handicap the course provides a number of interesting challenges combined with spectacular views of the two bays of Port St Mary and its harbour.
Rowany Golf Course
Established in 1895, Rowany Golf Club is situated in Port Erin, on the South-Western corner of the Isle of Man. The course was laid out by George Lowe who has a series of classic courses to his name. Royal Lytham St Annes being his most well known work.
Ramsey Golf Course
Set in front of a stunning background of the northern hills of the Isle of Man, Ramsey Golf Club was founded in 1891. It was laid out by Old Tom Morris, modified by George Lowe, and then in 1926 it was redesigned by James Braide, five times Open Champion. Most recently the course has been further modified to a plan of Steve Marnoch.
