Saurines Golf Course
Saurines is an 18 hole, par 72, desert-style golf course but with a links philosophy, is designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is designed with influences of the Nicklaus golf course in Lake, Las Vegas. Its main characteristics are undulating fairways and greens among desert dunes, few bunkers and a great 6 hectare lake. Holes 9 and 18 go around the lake, which guarantees an exciting final.
It measures a maximum of 6,498 metres. For long hitters, the par 5 holes are reachable in two, being under 480 metres, but you will have to be accurate as there are hazards left and right of the greens. The three par 3 holes are either long with two over 182 metres in length and although the 6th is short at 126 metres, the shot is played over water to a narrow green.
Saurines golf course is a great addition to the golf courses in this area and is well worth a visit. A great new course that opened at the beginning of 2011. It is part of the group of courses golfers can play when staying at Mar Menor Golf Resort and is a perfect choice for golf groups looking for a well designed golf course
